On June 28, 2015, the class will participate in the Zenpukuji River Symposium held by a community organization called, 善福寺川を里川にカエル会 (Committee to Regenerate Zenpukuji River as an Undeveloped River). We will also have the chance to explore the river itself! At the symposium, we will be given the opportunity to hear about Japan’s river policy (especially in Tokyo), the history of land and water use, and how community-level organizations work in Tokyo from leading researchers on rivers and environment, as well as members of the host Committee.
